Not enough people have heard about him but all of you FanView readers should definitely give this guys music a listen. We have stood by his side since Bishop Briggs opened up for him last year at the Fillmore along with the another FanView fav, SHAED band. Two amazing openers that definitely kicked that show off to a great start, for we came home with 4 new favorite artists. One of which is Grant (Manatee Commune) who learned how to create music on his own in his bedroom with inspirations of rain and featured nature samples that traverse throughout his songs. As a resident of Seattle, Wasington he had rain drops hitting his window pane for hours on end to assist his natural sounding beats. A genius in our eyes, his set was something we haven't been able to compare to any other set. Just him and his viola, electronic mixer, drum pads and drumsticks and an occasional wind chime. He rocks the stage and the audience effortlessly all while being barefoot, yes we said it folks! He kicks off his socks and shoes before a show and the vibrations are probably one heck of a thrill throughout the body when its stage on skin. The visuals he brings to the stage are like no other and all follow the same theme. A theme that we are so curious to ask him about and how he would describe it, but we will try our best. This artistry matches the sounds he produces on a tee and we wish we had a larger vocabulary to help you best understand just by reading about it. A delicate mix of colors that are home to the world of nature including bubblegum colors which mix well with his sweet sweet melodies. Here is preview of what we got to see live visual wise (which is even cooler accompanied with his music!).

A slideshow of flowers, trees, roadways, birds and probably even bees, he finds a way to filter these through what we can only come up with as electronic filters that reflect and patternize nature making it look exacty how his music would sound. Now that you are on the same page visually, here is a video of Manatee playing our favorite, Blueberry.

All we can say is we hope you enjoy as much as we do, he is the first artist that can bring actual tears to our eyes without any lyrics, that being tears of joy and gratitude not only for music but also for what the world has to offer. Songs like 'Brick Orange' and the newest one he has released, 'What We've Got' which has some amazing collaborators including SOL and Flint Eastwood has passed our expectations for music in general and proves he can one-up himself every time. No wonder he keeps his socks off, they are bound to get rocked off eventually his music is just too good and we could list more of his successes but well leave you with this,

'Clay' is particularly amazing because its his first music video on a song and features a very talented Marina Price, a perfect match vocally for Manatee's one of a kind sound.

Here is a song by the well-known artist, Petit Biscuit, who created 'Sunset Lover' allowing Manatee to remix and definitely enhance.

Via any social media platform Manatee has our backs. What we mean is he delivers and in a timely manner by posting content from songs to pictures to updates and is always on his game in doing so.

Some more pictures of Grant, the most pure of human beings to walk this earth,

And last but definitely not least, FanView and Manatee Commune in one single photograph TOGETHER, PEEPED!
