Meg Myers: Introduced By FanViews Newest Author!

It’s an exciting time right now for music fans of Meg Myers! The multi-talented singer and songwriter returns with a new album in July called, ‘Take Me to the Disco’. It will be her first album since her classic debut LP ‘Sorry’ was released back in 2015.

Meg has stated in videos she’s released on Instagram and YouTube that there has been a lot of growth as well as ups and downs over the past 2 years while working on this new album. She is extremely thankful to her fans who have stood by her and have held respectful and dedicated patience during this creative time process.

You can listen to the single that inspired the name of her album,’Take Me To The Disco’ by clicking here>> ‘TMTTD’ on YouTube. FV hopes this is the one that she will create her next video for!

So far she has released 3 singles from the new album. The first is titled, ‘Numb’ which has already been accompanied by a video. The song discusses being numb to what everyone else wants or expects from you and not caring about living up to those expectations. Watch her creatively directed and meaningful video for ‘Numb’ on YouTube. The second single is the title track off her album, called ‘Take Me To The Disco’. This song has a much different feel to it than ‘Numb’ does but delivers that Meg style the fans know and love. Her third single is ‘Jealous Sea’ and so far this is my favorite track off the new album. Her lyrical songwriting skills are on full display in this song.

Here’s a sample of the lyrics from the chorus of the song:

(Chorus)

“And I don’t think I can stop the jealousy

When it comes, it comes like waves and I can’t breathe

And I don’t think I can stop the jealousy

When it runs, it burns like lightning through my teeth”

What I love about Meg is that she is true to herself and her music style. She has her own sound and each song is unique in its own way. Her first album is already a classic to Meg fans. Every song is a hit and each track is well sequenced which made you feel no need to skip to the next song.

Check out FanViews all-time favorite by this amazingly talented artist, Jealous Sea (Audio Only).

My favorite tracks from the first album by Myers are, ‘Sorry’, ‘Desire’, ‘Motel’ and ‘Lemon Eyes’. Her first album did contain a number of songs from two of her previous EP’s, but they fit in flawlessly with the new material.

This is what makes Meg so great, she takes her time to create her songs and perfect them. She doesn’t just rush out product to keep her name out there in between albums. She’s true to her craft and cares more about her content that she’s creating, than just rushing sub par music to us fans who are always craving more new music. Hope you guys enjoy this one as much as we do, we present to your Meg Myers video for ‘Desire’

Since her last album and tour she’s spent a passionate 2 years putting ‘Take Me to the Disco’ together to bring something different than her previous material, but still with that signature Meg Myers style. Her vocal pitch changes that she’s known for are still heard in her new music but with a different musical soundscape. I love to see artists who don’t just play it safe and give you the same sound over and over again. The true growth of an artist is when they can reshape their sound while still maintaining that style we have grown to love.

A popular favorite based off her LP “Sorry” is, ‘Lemon Eyes’ . She is shown singing in a trailer rocking yellow shades and it seems all so mundane until the very last second of the video something extremely unexpected is revealed to us viewers, leaving us with a grimacing smirk and an understanding of who the lemon eyes belong to. Check it out to experience an unexpected plot twist that gives off a horror film inspired vibe.

Lyrically Meg has not lost a step at all. She’s still very poetic, deep, and dark in her views and thoughts. This is a big part of what I like about her as a songwriter. It’s great the way she tells her stories or explains her points of view through her lyrics. Painting the pictures using metaphors & similes much like our favorite hip-hop artists. Here is an intimate performance Meg Myers put on for the crew at 91x, ‘After You’ LIVE!!

Hearing & seeing Meg’s videos are one thing. But the ultimate Meg Meyers experience is seeing her perform live. Trust me when I say, she performs like a woman possessed with music inside her. She dances and contorts her body and face like a demon possessing someone who is ready to attack, and then a split second later she wins you over with a sweet smile and the tone completely changes. Her versatility from song to song keeps the fans intrigued and her stage presence is felt by all who attend her live shows. In order to prove this belief our next link will present Meg singing Motel acoustically in a house that was lucky enough to have her sonics bounce off of its very walls, Motel LIVE (Acoustic)

So if you are not a fan already and are new to her music, I recommend checking out these songs and videos from her previous LP’s and EP’s: ‘Sorry’, ‘Motel’, ‘Desire’, ‘Lemon Eyes’, and ‘After You’. After hearing these classics, be sure to check out her new material: ‘Numb’, ‘Take Me to the Disco’ and ‘Jealous Sea’. (All of which we have left links for so you fans can easily get to experience the blessing that is, Meg Myers.)
